Fanfiction Talk

I ran across my first shipping elitist on the cesspool of fanfiction, FF.net, and I handled it better than I would have in the past. I don't understand shipping elitist, like I don't understand people who get pissed off when you warn them that the content may not be to their liking. Shipping elitist honestly have nothing better to do than hound you about a pairing you chose to use. I've noticed I don't give a damn what pairing a person uses. If it intrigues me and is well-written you could be writing a crack pairing of Kurotsuchi/Ichigo and I would love it.

Shipping elite be damned. .

Shipping elitists? I vaguely know what that means, I think. I am not heavily into fanfiction. I find it really difficult. The one I wrote for azzy took me what seemed like forever because I was just having a hard time trying to get into the heads of the characters.

But it doesn't surprise me. Elitists seem to pop up everywhere nowadays.

Yeah, they are people who believe only the pair they ship or the pairing that is "canon" is the only way to go. Pretty much a "sink or swim" attitude. It is hard writing fanfiction because you have to live in someone else's head space for a bit.

They're like a virus, you know.
